Reto Kestenholz is a jibber!

Usually he doesn’t ride comps anymore and puts all his energy in shaping the parks in Zermatt and Grindelwald, in backcountry riding and in actions such as the Gran Masta Gap. But for the PBRJ in Grindelwald Zimtstern Snowboard Team Rider Reto Kestenholz was motivated to jib the self-built set-up together with all the other riders.. and he got honored for his skills, winning the open category! How sick is this! Congratulations, Reto!

Junior Open Davos 2011

22&23/01/2011: One more time the rising stars in snowboarding met for a thrilling battle at the Junior Open in Davos. The bluebird sky above the perfectly shaped halfpipe was a great motivation for the riders, due to sub-zero temperatures only the crowd slightly shivered while watching the competition.

It was just insane, how the youngbloods in snowboarding performed at the Junior Open Davos. In the U16 boys category the Top 3 of the Junior Open Laax in December was on the spot again: The Swiss rider David Hablützel, The Slovenian Tim-Kevin Ravnjak and the German Zimtstern Snowboard Team Rider Linus Birkendahl pushed eachother and featured even higher, heavier and more stylish runs. Finally Dave won with an amazing run: frontside air indy, backside 900 mute, frontside 720 indy, cab 720 mute, crippler, backside alley oop, air to fakie. He placed himself in front of Tim-Kevin and Lucien Koch. Linus couldn’t stick his run in the finals and thus didn’t end up on the podium. Among the youngest, the U13 boys, we had the same winner as in Laax too: Tit Stante from Slovenia. In all other categories the defending champions of Laax haven’t been on-site. That was the chance for Joel Staub (U20 Men), Silvana Clavuot (U20 Women), Verena Rohrer (U16 Women) and Ariana Bellwald (U13 Women), to win the competition in their categories.
The Junior Open events are part of the TTR world tour as well as of the Audi Swiss snowboard series and the riders took home a total prize money of 3000.- CHF as well as some nice Zimtstern gear.

Zimtstern Snowboard Team @ O’Neill Evolution Davos

The Zimtstern Snowboard Team, namely Clemens Schattschneider, Linus Birkendahl & Helene Nadig performed at their best!

Helene with clean and high runs, qualified for the Womens Halfpipe Semi Finals, but then didn’t make it into the top 10 to enter the finals.

Linus went big and sticked his first fs900 at a competition. He only missed the Mens HP Semi Finals by one rank.

And Clemens qualifying for the Slopestyle finals, all the way from the open qualifications, just blew everyone’s mind away with some extremely high, boned double cork 1080ies. Too bad that he didn’t hit the pole in the jib part and then grabbed the snow… Who knows on what position he would have ended up otherwise!
